Muting users and channels

If enabled for the network, users can selectively mute other users and channels on their devices.

Enabling and disabling the mute function on devices

The default is to allow muting. To disable muting on user devices Admins can go to the Settings>General section on the Management Console. For each platform (Android, iOS, or Desktop), toggle on the Disable option to mute selected users and channels setting as displayed below.

Muting on Android devices

  1. Select the contact or channel you want to mute
  2. Long press until the pop-up menu appears
  3. Select Mute

  4. The muted contact or channel will display a red icon under the name

  5. To unmute, long press again and select Unmute

Muting on iOS devices

  1. Select the contact or channel you want to mute
  2. From the talk screen, tap the drop-down arrow 
  3. Select Mute [name of contact or channel]

  4. The muted contact or channel will display a gray icon to the left of the name

  5. To unmute, tap on the drop-down arrow and select Unmute [name of contact or channel]

Muting on the Windows PC 

  1. Right-click on the contact or channel you want to mute
  2. Select Mute
  3. The muted contact or channel will display a red icon to the right of the name

  4. To unmute, right-click again and select Unmute
