Advanced network settings

Networking (Mobile)

Changing these features go into effect when you’re connected through your phone’s mobile service.

Keep alive interval: This is the polling time between the app and the service. A longer time polling time uses less bandwidth and improves battery life. A shorter polling time keeps the user status display current and may improve connectivity. For most, the default value should work fine. Options are “s” for seconds and “m” for minutes.

Use TCP only: Using TCP instead of UDP speeds sign in and improves connection reliability. But it may delay receiving messages in real time.

Please update this page to include explanations for all features within the Options submenus. For example, in the Options/Audio submenu there is a setting called "Automatic gain control". I'd like to find out how this setting is designed to affect audio quality. Thanks.
