Network Management Console settings for iOS

ZelloWork networks are highly customizable, allowing Admins to adjust user and device settings remotely from the Management Console. To go to your Management Console, type in your network's URL: networkname.zellowork.com. For example, if your network is named "mycompany59", the URL would be "mycompany59.zellowork.com". Sign-in with the username of admin and your password.

Accessing console settings

  1. From the Management Console, select Settings from the taskbar.
  2. consolesettings.png
  3. From the right side-bar, select iOS.

NOTE: Settings noted with an asterisk * below can be set as the default using the Management Console. Users can change the default setting on their device and it will stay in effect until the user logs off. Once the user logs back in, the setting reverts back to the default on the Management Console.

iOS settings

Any settings changed here affect all users on the network with iOS devices.

General settings

Disable automatic contact selection: This will prevent Zello from switching active contact to the person who sent the last incoming message.

Automatically connect channel: Connect the user to the channels as soon as they sign in.

Sort channels by status: Puts connected channels at top of Channels list. The default is to list alphabetically.

Recording amplifier (dB) (beta): Adjust recording volume in decibels.

Playback amplifier (dB): Adjust playback volume in decibels.

Microphone boost (dB) (beta): Plays recorded audio at a louder level in decibels.
Keep-alive interval (mobile): This is the polling time between the app and the service. A longer time polling time uses less bandwidth and improves battery life for those using the Android device. A shorter polling time keeps the user status display current and may improve connectivity. For most users, the default value should work fine. Options are s for seconds and m for minutes.

Use TCP only (mobile): Speeds sign-in and improves cellular connection reliability. However, it may delay receiving messages in real-time.

Wake the device to keep Zello connected (beta): Prevents user devices from going into sleep mode.

Keep-alive interval (WiFi): This is the polling time between the app and Wi-Fi. A longer time polling time uses less bandwidth and improves battery life for those using the Android. A shorter polling time keeps the user status display current and may improve connectivity. For most users, the default value should work fine. Options are s for seconds and m for minutes.

Location sharing: Allows users to send their current location to another contact.

Maximum number of locations in the history:

Record over Bluetooth (beta): If this option is turned off, you won't be able to use the built-in microphone on the Bluetooth device.

Enable Bluetooth link keep-alive: This option prevents Bluetooth devices from suspending. This feature provides a quicker response time for audio playback and recording. Playback quality, however, is degraded.

Mix with other audio (beta): If other audio is playing, Zello will mix with the audio. For example, music will continue playing, but at a lower level.

Add headset button (beta): Creates headset button for user automatically when the headset is connected

Disable option to mute selected users and channels: Prevent users from muting users or channels.

Disable status toggle on the talk screen: Prevents user from using the toggle to change status.

Local History
